Problems faced by children in the rising heat and their treatment methods
Encourage children to drink water every 30-40 minutes, breastfeed the newborn more.
The rising heat is dangerous for the health of children, because due to school bus, ground, outdoor activities, children remain exposed to the sun for a long time. Many children forget to open the water bottle in school. On the other hand, due to thin skin and fast breathing in newborns, there is more evaporation of water, all these reasons prove fatal for children in the heat.

These problems can increase
If seen, many types of damage can be caused by the sun and heat, but five of them are very important-
1. Heat Cramps:
Usually, muscles suddenly cramp in older children who play in the sun, this is a relatively less serious problem and relief will be obtained by resting for some time, drinking lemon water, ORS etc.
2. Heat Syncope:
If the child suddenly falls unconscious during assembly in the school ground, then it is a syncope attack. Usually this happens due to not having breakfast or drinking less water. Make the child lie down in a shady and airy place and keep his feet lightly raised for some time. If this happens to the child often, then consult a doctor.
3. Heat Hyperpyrexia:
If someone suddenly becomes a victim of panic, restlessness, vomiting, dizziness while walking, then be alert, immediately take the patient to the hospital and keep wiping the body with a cold wet cloth.
4. Heat Exhaustion:
Repeated exposure to sunlight for several days can cause problems like fatigue, lethargy, restlessness, nausea, dizziness etc. In such a situation, keep a distance from the Sun God for two-four days, drink plenty of liquids and give yourself time to recover.
5. Heat Stroke:
This is the most serious complication of heat in which the body's temperature control system fails completely, the temperature can reach 110 degrees Fahrenheit. Treatment is possible in the intensive care unit of the hospital.
So should we be confined to our homes?
This is not true, if proper guidelines are followed then it is possible to avoid problems. Keep these in mind...
1. Go out in the sun but cautiously:
Make children wear full sleeved and light coloured loose cotton clothes, keep an umbrella and goggles with you. Always keep a water bottle with you while going out, remind children to drink water repeatedly. Make them sleep even after giving them water while sleeping. Make them drink shikanji, soup, coconut water, buttermilk and fresh juice. Breastfeed small children more often.
2. The room should be comfortable for the newborn:
Do not keep the newborn covered too much. Coolers and ACs can be run so that the room temperature remains fine.
3. Recognize the danger:
Start ORS immediately if small children have vomiting and diarrhea. Diarrhea can be reduced a little by feeding bananas, rice, curd, khichdi etc. to children older than 6 months. If the child urinates less, eyes seem sunken, and mouth is dry, consult a doctor.
