Understand the tricks of new cyber fraud and stay safe
These days, cases of cyber fraud are increasing rapidly. One of these new methods is OTP (One Time Password) theft, in which the fraudsters steal your personal information on the pretext of merging two incoming calls.
When someone calls you and says that you will receive an important call and merge it, then be alert. As soon as you merge both the calls, the fraudster can listen to your conversation or forward the call to another number. After this, when the OTP related to bank or UPI comes on your number, it reaches the fraudster directly.
This is how fraud happens
Cyber criminals misuse the calls of your mobile network. They confuse you through calls and say that this is a technical check or network update. When you do the process told by them, after your call is forwarded to their number, they come to know the OTP and the account gets emptied.
