Negligence regarding food in summer can cause serious health problems, among which food poisoning is prominent. This is a common but dangerous condition, which can be caused by contaminated, stale or improperly cooked food. Bacteria, viruses and fungi grow rapidly in summer, due to which food gets spoiled quickly. In such a situation, even a little negligence can cause serious stomach related diseases.

Why does food poisoning happen:
This problem occurs due to frequent eating outside, junk food or stale food. In such a situation, eat fresh food cooked at home. Take probiotic things like curd and buttermilk. Also take care of hygiene.

Older people should focus on keeping the body cool and hydration to protect themselves from heat. For this, some beverages, herbs and spices have been described as effective in Unani medicine. Let us know about some such things which will remove digestive problems in summer.

Adopt these methods for prevention

  • Drink plenty of water, so that dehydration does not occur.
  • Drink electrolyte powder, lemonade or glucose water, these will fulfill the deficiency of electrolytes.
  • Eat light and easy to digest food like dal-rice, khichdi, porridge or plain rice. This will give energy to the body.
  • If vomiting occurs, do not panic, keep taking fluids, because some amount of fluids get absorbed in the body. Stopping eating and drinking increases the risk of dehydration.
  • Ark Pudina: In case of indigestion or cholera in summer, take 30-30 ml of Ark Pudina in the morning and evening.
  • Ark Fennel: If there is a problem of gas or indigestion in the stomach, take 30-30 ml in the morning and evening.
  • Bel Sharbat: Mixing ripe bael pulp in water and drinking it with a little sugar candy is beneficial.
  • Tamarind Sharbat: Tamarind water is beneficial in high fever due to pitta dosha. You can take 30 ml of this too.
  • Aloo Bukhara Sharbat: This Sharbat quenches thirst, cools the mind, removes fever caused by bile. Take 20-20 ml in the morning and evening.
  • Spices-Herbs: Fennel, coriander, mint, desi rose will give coolness.
