Many people lose hope of ever finding their phone again after it's stolen, but the Telecom Department's ceir portal is keeping this hope from being shattered. The government portal, ceir, claims to have successfully traced over 500,000 phones in such cases. In the last two years, Delhi residents have filed 800,000 complaints on this portal. Here's the process:
In case of mobile theft, first go to www.ceir.gov.in. Click on the "Block Stolen/Lost Mobile" option on the left side of the website's homepage. After tapping this option, a new page will open. This page will ask for some important information. Fill it out.

Keep these things in mind:
■After requesting phone information, you'll also be asked for details about the theft, such as where and in which state the phone was stolen.

■You'll then need to provide some personal information. Once you've provided all the information, press the submit button. Following these steps, the phone will be blocked. The phone will then be traced and information will be provided. You can also track the progress of your complaint through the website.
