Malpua Recipes
1. Coconut Malpua
Ingredients:
- All-purpose flour - 3/4 cup
- Desiccated coconut - 1/4 cup
- Milk - 1/2 cup
- Jaggery - 1/2 cup
- Ghee - for frying
Method:
Combine the flour, milk, and coconut to make a thick batter. Fry the batter in ghee until golden brown. Prepare a thin jaggery syrup and dip the malpuas in it. You can garnish with some chopped nuts.
2. Banana Malpua
Ingredients:
- All-purpose flour - 3/4 cup
- Banana - 1
- Milk - 1/4 cup
- Jaggery - 1/2 cup
- Ghee - for frying
Method:
Blend the banana with the flour, then add milk to make a thick batter. Fry the malpuas in ghee. Dip the malpuas in the jaggery syrup. Serve after cooling.
3. Fennel and Saffron Malpua
Ingredients:
- All-purpose flour - 3/4 cup
- Milk - 1/4 cup
- Fennel seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Saffron - 5-6 strands (soaked in warm milk)
- Ghee - for frying
- Jaggery - 1/2 cup (dissolved in water)
Method:
Combine the flour and milk to make a thick batter. Add the saffron and fennel seeds. Fry the malpuas in ghee. Soak them in the jaggery water and serve slightly cooled.
