These five screenings are important

1. For breast cancer:

Women between the ages of 25-40 should self-examine their breasts once a month and get a clinical examination done every 1-3 years. Women between the ages of 40-74 should get mammography done every 1-2 years. If there is a family history of cancer or a BRCA gene mutation, start testing early.

2. Cervical cancer:

Women between the ages of 21-29 should get a Pap smear done every 3 years. People between the ages of 30-65 should get Pap and HPV tests done every 5 years. If you have weak immunity, consult a doctor.

3. Colon cancer:

People between the ages of 45-75 should get colonoscopy done every 10 years. Stool tests should be done every year, sigmoidoscopy or CT colonography should be done every 5 years. If someone in the family has had colon cancer, start testing early.

4. Lung cancer:

Smokers between the ages of 50-80, who have a smoking history of more than 20 years, 1 pack/20 cigarettes a day and are currently smoking or have quit within 15 years, should get low-dose CT scan done every year.

5. Mouth cancer:

People above the age of 30 who are addicted to tobacco, bidi-cigarettes or alcohol should get their mouths checked by a doctor or dentist every year. The number of oral cancer cases caused by HPV virus is increasing.
