Method

Myth 1: Skin remains oily in summer, so there is no need for moisturizer.
Fact: Even though the skin may feel oily in summer, it does not mean that it is hydrated. If you do not apply moisturizer, the skin produces more oil, which can increase pimples.
Tip: Use gel based or oil free moisturizer in summer.

Myth 2: If you are at home, there is no need to apply sunscreen.
Fact: Sunscreen should be used not only outside, but also while staying at home. The reason for this is that UV rays can damage your skin not only outside, but also inside the house. Apart from this, blue light (which mainly comes from digital screens) can also harm the skin.
Tip: Apply sunscreen properly. SPF 30 or 50 is usually sufficient. Many sunscreens contain moisturizing elements, which keep the skin hydrated.

Myth 3: Scrubbing is good. Scrubbing should be done frequently in summer.
Fact: Frequent scrubbing removes the natural protection layer of the skin, due to which the skin can become more sensitive. Irritation and rashes can increase.
Tip: Do gentle exfoliation only once or twice a week. Excessive exfoliation can cause irritation and inflammation in the skin. Choose mild or enzyme based exfoliators. Scrubs can also be made from natural things.

Myth 4: Only people with oily skin get pimples in summer.
Fact: Every skin type can get pimples due to heat and sweat. Even those with dry skin. Heat, humidity and dirt block pores, which can lead to breakouts in all skin types.
Tip:Clean your face twice a day with a mild face wash to remove excess oil and dirt. Use non-comedogenic products. Whenever you feel sweaty or oily, use blotting paper.

Myth 5: Applying natural things like lemon or tomato directly on the skin is good in summer.
Fact: Using lemon and tomato directly on the skin can be harmful. If you want to use lemon, you can make a mask by mixing it with moisturizing ingredients like honey or yogurt. You can use tomato in a face pack.
Tip: If you want to use these things, then apply them in a balanced amount in a homemade mask and always do a patch test first. It is not necessary that it suits you.
